REDTREE

Redtree products are designed and built to provide years of trouble free service. The details below illustrate the measures we take to ensure that Redtree products will out perform those of many of our competitors.

Timber...

At Redtree, we exclusively use hardwoods in the manufacture of our products**. Our chosen variety is Iroko, a member of the Teak family, which has a long and proven tradition in the manufacture of outdoor furniture. All Iroko used by Redtree is sourced strictly from properly managed plantations in West Africa. All timber used in the manufacturing of Redtree seating is carefully selected prior to being machined to ensure the wood is free from fractures and splits which could considerably reduce the life of the product. At each subsequent stage of the manufacturing process we ensure that the timber is carefully inspected to be certain the timber remains free from cracks and potentially hazardous splinters. After a final sanding by hand each piece of timber is given a 3 stage protective, translucent coating using latest Dulux technology*. Firstly, a protective base sealant is applied before 2 separate coats of the wood preservative are carefully added by hand. Prior to being shipped the timber receives a final, light sanding so that a very smooth and comfortable surface is achieved for future users. This attention to detail not only ensures that the beauty in the grain of the wood can be seen and enjoyed but also that the timber remains in first class condition for up to 6 years before further application is necessary.

* excludes Grosvenor seats which are supplied with 2 coats of teak oil unless otherwise requested and Picnic benches which are dip coated in Sikkens wood preservative.

** excludes Picnic benches which are constructed from Scandanavian Redwood.

Steel...

As a standard treatment all steel components are subjected to a three stage process. Firstly the frames are shot blast. Then a protective phosphate coating is applied to provide additional protection against corrosion before a tough, plastic PPA coating especially developed for outdoor use is applied to the surface of the component.
